The Queens Head - Queen Street - Town Centre
Staff and customers have experienced doors opening and closing on there own, light anomalies, shadow figures, temperature drops. A ghostly man and dogs have been seen and felt in the cellar.

The following is an account from a worker at the pub, it happened around 1997 - 98: There has been a man in the cellar that smells of cigars he used to turn the gas off. 3 children have been seen in one of the bedrooms upstairs near the living room, they were sat in the corner by the door playing a game on the floor, maybe marbles. A Nanny type looking lady in a black dress has been seen opening the door and looks in on children. The children disappear and she looks through you. Very eerie lady. One night, it sounded like a riot was going on in the pub downstairs, chairs and tables smashing etc and people shouting, the assistant manager ran downstairs and found everything normal. I've been told that there was a historical fight in the pub and it's possible that's what was being played out the night it went mad. We did try to look into it at one point.
This account is from another person around 7 or 8 years later: I had a lot of experiences happen to me in the flat up stairs, in the middle bedroom, I was sleeping when my dog started going mad, it woke me up. It was that bad, it felt like someone had stopped me getting up with there hand then my door slammed shut, I ran up the hallway and the top door slammed. After that, I stayed outside until the morning. I also saw George, the ghost in the cellar when I changed a barrel, he was at the top of barrel ramp. An old Victorian woman has been seen a few times stood in the kitchen up stairs. I had little bedroom at the bottom of the flat where I kept my drum kit, you could hear the cymbals being hit and my drum sticks got moved all the time, it freaked me out. I had a lot more happen, too much to explain, it was creepy at the time but amazing.
The Queens Head became a well known music venue 2014 - 2017 with artists from many styles of music from Drum and Bass, bands to acoustic nights. They have hosted nights with famous artists such as Jazzy Jeff (Fresh Prince of Bell Air), Mixmaster Mike (Beastie Boys), A Guy Called Gerald, Jon Gomm, Peppino D'agostino and Luca Stricagnoli.
The pub is now under new management.
